Gorosito, Cataldi, de la Vega Trío
Started in 2000, with Rodolfo Gorosito on guitar and vocals, José Cataldi on guitar and
Armando de la Vega on guitar and arrangements. this “Trio” recreates and projects the profound shape and essence of the Tango, through its evolution, with a camaristic and free vision, centered in the search of expression as its fundamental tool.
The Trio played in several different places such “Colon Theatre of Buenos Aires”, “Presidente Alvear Theatre”, “San Martín Cultural Center”, “Torquato Tasso Cultural Center”, “Guitar of the World Festival” (9th and 11th edition), and others.
In 2004 the Trio made their first European tour with the support of the Argentine MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS AND WORSHIP, performing at ZURCHER TANGOWOCHE FESTIVAL (Switzerland). They also gave a concert at ROYAL FESTIVAL HALL, Purcell Room, organizated by LACCS( Latinoamerican and Caribean Cultural Society).
In 2008 the Trío made it`s second international tour supported by the Argentine MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS AND WORSHIP, performing in the Middle East at Bahrein and United Arab Emirates.
They also performed at Saudi Arabia where they took parts in a documentary called BEYOND WORDS directed by Hanna Abdullah and produced by Mansour Al-Bakr.
In the film the Trio made played with a Saudi folk music band called DAR ONAIZAH FOLK MUSIC. Also participated in the “PBTa” Festival (París, France)
In 2010 they took part in the homage to the Maestro HORACIO SALGÁN at the White Room
in Argentine Goverment House. In 2011 the Trio participed in the 5th. Edition of the “Guitar Week” in Colombia organizated by Republic of Colombia Bank giving concerts and workshops in differents cities: Barranquilla, Villavicencio, Cali, Medellín, Bogotá.

Rodolfo Gorosito
Rodolfo Gorosito was born in 1953 in Buenos Aires and began studying the guitar at the age 12. He further studied the guitar lessons, singing techniques and music theory at Manuel De Falla. He also studied Tango singing with Maestro Manolo Juárez.
He taught private guitar lessons in 1972, took up a teaching job at Escuela Popular de Música de la Sociedad Argentina de Músicos in 1991 and became Head of the Guitar Department in 2010. He also taught guitar lessons and at Instituto Superior de Música Popular de la Sociedad Argentina de Músicos
He performed as guitarist and composer with various bands at the age of 16. In 1973 musician and composer León Gieco encouraged him to join the band ‘Banda de Caballos Cansados’ in which he was involved in composing some of the band’s songs. Since then he toured regularly with this band in Argentina and overseas until 1976, then joined another band ‘Los Desconocidos de Siempre’ where he worked with Nito Mestre as guitarist and composer. In 1980 he worked as music consultant for various concerts and made recordings for many outstanding artists such as Marilina Ross, Sergio Denis, Oscar Kreimer, Chango Farías Gomez and Alejandro Lerner. In 1983 he appeared with a rock band called ‘Los Redonditos de Ricota’, participated in Latin American music festival held in New York in 1985 where he performed with Marilina Ross. Recently he worked on Tango music with musicians such as Lidia Borda. He has been working as guitarist and singer for ‘el trío Gorosito / Cataldi / de la Vega’ since 2000.
José Cataldi
José Cataldi was born in 1955 in Buenos Aires. He started learning guitar with master Héctor Santos and Lucila Saab, studied singing techniques with Pedro Aguilar and Edgar Spinazzi, studied arrangement of music for performance by an orchestra with Mtro. Rodolfo Alchourrón and music composition with Mtro. Rodolfo Mederos.
In 1975 he taught private guitar lessons and operated his own music school ‘Escuela de Música de Villa Ballester’. In 1999 he was guitar teacher at Escuela Popular de Música de la Sociedad Argentina de Músicos and taught guitar classes at Instituto Superior de Música Popular de la Sociedad Argentina de Músicos in 2004.
He worked as guitarist and music arranger for many folk bands and worked with Tango singer Susana Blaszko with whom he shared a stage at music events, organised by Buenos Aires Municipality, held at venue such as Teatro Municipal General San Martín, Anfiteatro de Mataderos and Teatro Presidente Alvear. He took part in music arrangements and performed on Susana Blaszko’s album on a piece called ‘Toda Buenos Aires’. He has been with el trío Gorosito / Cataldi / de la Vega as guitarist since 2000.
Armando De la Vega
Born in Buenos Aires in 1959, Armando De la Vega began studying guitar classic with Oscar Casares and Miguel Charosky, studied electronic guitar, singing techniques with Eduardo Criscuolo. In 1983 he taught private guitar lessons, in 1989 taught guitar classes at Escuela Popular de Música de la Sociedad Argentina de Músicos, and was later appointed Head of guitar study and Director for Academic Affairs. In 2002 he became Director for Academic Affairs and taught Tango guitar course at Instituto Superior de Música Popular de la Sociedad Argentina de Músicos.
He worked as musician, composer and music arranger for many bands. His musical experience included performing with a folk band ‘Contramano’, was invited to perform as a soloist and with an orchestra of Avellaneda Municipality, collaborated with Gustavo Fedel, a composer of the song ‘ Tangueado’. In 1992 he worked with a singing group ‘Tangos de Buenos Aires’ and co-organised Latin-American concert in San Pablo, Brazil. He worked with a choral group of José Ángel Trelles and a singing group ‘Amelita Baltar’, performed in concerts in Argentina, Brazil, Chile and recording collaborations with Amelita Baltar in the album Referencias and Amelita de todos los tangos.
In 1999 he performed with a singing group Pablo Ziegler in concerts held in Brazil, Isarel, Uruguay, performed as guest artist with Paquito de Rivera and Brenda Feliciano in Tango concerts held in Buenos Aires. He worked with Pablo Ziegler on many albums and performed with the opera group ‘María de Buenos Aires’ of Astor Piazzolla and Horacio Ferrer in Italy in 2002, perfomed in the Netherlands, Belgium and Hungary in 2004.
In 1984 he performed with ‘Rodolfo Mederos’ band at many important events such as Latin American Folk Music Festival, Festival Cervantino Internacional in Brazil, Expo-Sevilla 92 in Spain. He worked with Rodolfo Mederos on many albums such as Verdades y mentiras, Reencuentros, Mederos quinteto and Eterno Buenos Aires. Festival appearance in 2003 included, for example Festival Cervantino Internacional in Mexico and Festival Sevilla entre culturas in Spain. He collaborated with pianist and composer: Saúl Cosentino and Pablo Mainetti. He was invited to perform with Oviedo Symphony Orchestra in Spain, featured as soloist at Astor Piazzolla’s concert and performed in Más Tango’s album titled ‘Más Tango’. He has been with el trío Gorosito / Cataldi / de la Vega as guitarist and music arranger since 2000.
